Latest developments on the participation of Jasprit Bumrah in the Dharamshala Test against England.

Dharamshala Test update: India’s captain, Rohit Sharma, provided a significant update on the potential participation of Jasprit Bumrah in the last Test of the series against England to be held at Dharamshala. He mentioned that no decision has been made yet, and they will make a call in the coming days.

In the fourth Test, India played without Jasprit Bumrah, as he was given a rest by the BCCI. Despite the pitch conditions not favoring seamers, Bumrah showcased his class and played a crucial role in India’s victories in the second and third games of the series, bouncing back from a disappointing loss in the opening match. The Indian vice-captain highlighted Bumrah’s exceptional performance in the first three games, emphasizing his significant contribution to the team’s success.

Even though Jasprit Bumrah sat out the fourth game, he stands as India’s top wicket-taker in the series. The fast bowler has amassed an impressive tally of 17 wickets in three matches, maintaining an average just above 13. With around 81 overs bowled in the series, Bumrah was rested to carefully manage his workload and ensure his fitness for upcoming matches. # Dharamshala Test update

With India having secured the series victory, attention now shifts to the final game scheduled in Dharamshala starting from March 7th. The players are expected to enjoy a decent rest period before the match, and it is anticipated that all members of the team will be available.

Following the fourth Test in Ranchi, Rohit Sharma was questioned about the possibility of giving Jasprit Bumrah an extended rest, given the team’s series win. In response, the Indian captain remarked, “We haven’t made any decisions on that yet (smiles).”

When questioned about the lack of enthusiasm among young players for Test cricket, Rohit Sharma responded by emphasizing that it is futile to include those who lack the hunger to play the longest format of the game. He elaborated, “Observing those who lack the appetite for Test cricket becomes evident. What’s the point of fielding players like that?” # Dharamshala Test update

Rohit Sharma, the captain of the Indian cricket team, shared insights into his role with the younger players, expressing his desire to create an environment that they find appealing. He stressed the importance of providing clarity to all players. He remarked, “So, it’s my responsibility and Rahul [Dravid]’s responsibility to ensure that we offer them a conducive environment. We aim for them to feel at ease when going out there to accomplish their tasks. They are already clear about their objectives, so there’s no need for constant reminders or discussions. When they come here, they already have a clear understanding of what they want to achieve.”
