In the third Test at Rajkot, Yashasvi Jaiswal delivered an outstanding performance by scoring an unbeaten 214 runs off 236 balls. His exceptional innings played a pivotal role in India’s declaration at 430/4, setting a challenging target of 557 runs for the visiting team in the final innings.

On Sunday, February 18, Indian bowlers successfully dismissed England for 122 runs, securing a commanding 434-run victory. With this triumph, the home team seized a 2-1 lead in the five-match series. Despite his remarkable double century, Jaiswal did not clinch the Player of the Match award.

In the first Test, the 22-year-old batsman scored 80 runs but unfortunately lost his wicket. However, during the Visakhapatnam Test, Jaiswal made a significant contribution by scoring 209 runs, leading the team to a 106-run victory. The left-hander accumulated a total of 545 runs across three Tests with an impressive average of 109.

Yashasvi Jaiswal shared that the determination and commitment displayed by Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja in the first innings served as a significant motivation for his performance in the second innings.

“The way Rohit bhai and Jaddu bhai played in the first innings was a great source of inspiration for me. Their passion and commitment were evident, focusing on playing session by session.
