On Tuesday, January 23, the BCCI announced the inclusion of Rinku Singh in the India A squad for the second four-day match against England Lions. Initially named for the third game, Singh’s unexpected addition to the second game dispels speculations surrounding his potential inclusion in the Indian Test squad for the five-match series against England, especially after Virat Kohli’s withdrawal from the initial two games.
The second unofficial Test, part of the three-match series, is set to take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad from January 24. The opening game concluded in a draw, with England Lions dominating the early days but facing stiff resistance from India A on the final day. Despite the tourists needing 6 wickets, India A displayed a commendable performance, led by batsmen like Sai Sudharsan (97), Manav Suthar (89), and Srikar Bharat (116), securing 267 runs with the loss of just one wicket.
