When questioned about England’s approach to employing sweep and reverse sweep shots, Zak Crawley explained that incorporating such shots disrupts the spinner’s game plan. Crawley remarked, “Utilizing the sweep and reverse sweep when the ball is spinning is a viable strategy as it disrupts the spin bowlers’ plans. We tend to favor the reverse sweep, particularly when there’s less field coverage on that side. If the opposition had two fielders on the other side, we might opt for the conventional sweep – the reverse sweep just comes more naturally to us.”
