Over the years, he donned the jerseys of six different franchises – Delhi Daredevils, Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings), Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Gujarat Lions, and finally, Royal Challengers Bangalore. His leadership skills shone brightly when he led KKR to the playoffs in IPL 2018.

The latter stages of Karthik’s career saw him successfully transition into the role of a finisher. His contributions in this role were instrumental to RCB’s success in the 2022 and 2024 seasons. Though his final match didn’t yield a high score (11 runs), his overall impact on the team remains undeniable.
