KL Rahul's injury update

KL Rahul’s injury update – There is uncertainty regarding KL Rahul’s availability for the fifth and final Test between India and England, scheduled for March 7 in Dharamsala. The right-handed batsman was sidelined due to a quadricep strain suffered in the first Test last month and has missed the subsequent three Tests.

Following the first Test, both KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja (hamstring injury) had to undergo treatment at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. Although named in the squad for the last three Tests, their participation depended on their fitness. While Jadeja recovered in time for the third Test in Rajkot, KL Rahul was unable to do so. After being ruled out of the third Test, the BCCI mentioned that the player was on the verge of regaining full fitness. # KL Rahul’s injury update

“Mr. Rahul has achieved 90 percent of match fitness and is making positive progress under the supervision of the BCCI Medical Team. To attain full match fitness for the fourth and fifth Tests, he will continue his recovery at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru,” stated the BCCI. # KL Rahul’s injury update

Despite this, the right-handed batsman was absent for the fourth Test. According to a report, even though declared fit by the BCCI medical team, the batsman lacked confidence to return to action. Subsequently, India batting coach Vikram Rathour provided a contradictory update, mentioning that the team management had uncertainties about his fitness.

Amidst uncertainty surrounding KL Rahul’s availability, Cricbuzz has reported that the Karnataka batsman has not completed his recovery. His current condition is under evaluation by officials from the NCA and BCCI. According to the report, the prominent batsman has been sent abroad for a specialist opinion and has been undergoing treatment for nearly a week. It is likely that he is receiving treatment in London. # KL Rahul’s injury update

KL Rahul is grappling with discomfort in his right quadriceps, the same leg where he underwent surgery last year. The report indicates persisting stiffness, and both the BCCI and team management are unwilling to take any chances ahead of a hectic season.

The batsman is optimistic about a full recovery to resume action in time for the upcoming IPL season, where he is slated to captain Lucknow Super Giants. Additionally, he is expected to be part of India’s squad for the T20 World Cup scheduled in June.
