Mayank Agarwal poisoned in an unfortunate incident: The Indian cricketer, has initiated legal action by filing a police complaint through his manager after falling seriously ill and being hospitalized due to an illness contracted from contaminated water. The incident occurred during the team’s journey from Agartala, Tripura, to Surat, Gujarat. Reports suggest that Mayank may have inadvertently consumed a small amount of acid, resulting in his illness. Currently undergoing treatment at ILS Hospital in Agartala, Mayank is facing difficulties in speaking and has been transferred to the intensive care unit (ICU) after initial treatment.
Tripura State Health Secretary Kiran Gitte confirmed that the police have received Mayank Agarwal’s complaint and will conduct a thorough investigation into the matter. Manoj Kumar Debnath, the Manager of Business Development at ILS Hospitals Agartala, provided insights into Mayank’s condition, mentioning oral irritation and swelling on his lips. He assured that Mayank is clinically stable and under constant monitoring.
A Karnataka Cricket Board Official (KSCA) conveyed Mayank Agarwal’s well-being, stating that he is not in any immediate danger. The official mentioned ongoing observation at the Agartala hospital and the plan to fly him back to Bengaluru after receiving updates from the doctors.
In the latest development, it has been reported that Mayank Agarwal is now out of danger. The emerging details indicate that the water provided to him by the crew contained acid, as an acid bottle was mistakenly placed in the water storage area.
SP West Tripura Kiran Kumar informed that Mayank Agarwal’s manager lodged a specific complaint under NCCPS (New Capital Complex Police Station) to investigate the incident. The manager described the sequence of events, highlighting Mayank’s discomfort after drinking from a pouch in the airplane, leading to swelling, ulcers, and an urgent hospital admission. Despite these challenges, Mayank’s vital signs are reported to be stable.
